The biggest mistake a business can make during a crisis involving a public health threat… is to panic!
If you stop advertising, marketing and pull your horns in, you are missing a huge opportunity to rise above the fray and outshine your competitors.
Example: If you serve food in a restaurant open to the public… Be proactive! Have your staff tested, publicly announce that your staff is tested and found to be Virus Free!
Sanitize everything – using recommended methods like bleach wiping etc. Also use UV light air machines or ozone generators as air sanitizers to keep the open spaces and surfaces continually fresh and safe. This works for all public spaces and indoor locations. Offices, Food sellers, Retail stores, convenience stores, grocery stores, hardware stores etc.
Announcing that you have an ongoing air and surface sanitization program – Potential customers should be more likely to stop in!
Consider food service gloves, hair nets and face coverings or masks and explain that they are being used to minimize any contamination risk. (By restricting air and surface exposure to sneeze and cough spittle – the risk of spreading bugs diminishes exponentially).
Finally! Advertise the hell out of the fact that you are taking proactive steps to ensure your patrons safety and good health – keep the lights on and move forward with dignity, courage and… cash flow!
